Xmas Wishes

The challenge this week over at Die Cut Dreams christmas is Xmas wishes so I went through my stamps and found this one from about 10 years ago and decided to give it another go.

As I was getting everything together I couldn't think how to put white as the base layer until I remembered my embossing folder. How following these challenges is making me use my materials is great.
Anyway I have embossed the white card then used some foil I bought a few years ago from the tv along with the printed parchment paper.
I've stamped and embossed the mesage then mounted it onto red mirri card then finished it off with some gems.
I've added a flower in one corner and some more gems in the other and some ribbon
Thankyou for looking.

Fairy

Well it's been nearly a week since I last posted a card, it's good to see that football is back for me!
For this card I have actually done more than one challenge which for me is an achievement.

The fairy was a freebie from a Papercraft magazine last year and I have used pro markers, sacura pens and tried out my cosmic shimmer powder.
The backing paper is from a pad I found when I visited the states 2 years ago and was a dollar!
The pink paper was some leftover in my box that I put through a cuttlebug to see how it looked, so it was finally used. The brown was also leftover from a previous card.
The flowers I bought from Orchardcrafts flowers after seeing them used so much on blog sites and they really are gorgeous. I have just added some glitter to them, well you can't have a fairy without any glitter.
the challenges are; Fairy tales@ Secret Crafter
Pink, chocolate and white @ Colour create
Anything goes @Digi Doodles.
Thankyou for looking.

Santa

The challenge at Die Cut Dreams Christmas club this week is Santa.
For this I have used the Sketch Saturday layout.
The papers were bits from my christmas scrap box that I have glittered.
The stamp I have had for a few years now and think I bought them from the tv!!!
I have coloured him with felt tips, used applique on his white bits chalked the edges and finished off with a bit of glitter
I've used three buttons in the bottom corner and finished off with a small greeting.
Thankyou for looking.

Old Wreck

This weeks challenge over at Digi Doodles Shops is Use Those Scraps so that is what I have done for this card.
I've got three different kind of pattern paper and cut them into squares, then stressed the edges.
These are mounted onto blue card that was a left over.
I've stamped a mini from a set of kanban stamps onto spare card and cut round it. Then used my nesties to cut a white and blue out and inked round these edges.
To finish I have used gems for the lights and clear glazed the windscreen buttons in one corner and a greeting in the other .
The buttons have the backing from the ribbon bow in the corner in them.
Thanks for looking.

Beary Christmas

The challenge at Die Cut Dreams christmas this week is Bears.
The stamp was a freebie from a magazine last year that I have stamped and coloured with promarkers.
I've chalked the edges to take off that "stark" look of white.
The papers were also freebies from yet another magazine from a couple of years ago.
The cross-over strips are glittered over extra strong sellotape.
Then to finish off I have added jewels into the corners.
I don't normally use these colours for christmas so am quite pleased with the results, although I don't know whether to add a little rose bud at either side of the image.
Thank-you for looking.
Hugs xx

Gothic Rock Girl

I've decided to go away from cutie image for this challenge over at Sketch Saturday.
The image is from Charmed cards and Crafts and I have coloured her with pro-markers.
I've coloured her boots with Sakura glaze then finished off by chalking the edges.
I then mounted it onto silver mirri board.
The backing paper is from My Craft Studio and printed onto red paper.
The strips are red card punch with Martha Stuart punch then some black ribbon with red ribbon over the top.
To finish off I have put fake black stitching around the edge and then black rose and a red bow.
Thankyou for looking.

Sister

I've made this for my sister using the CPL Sketch Challenge 27.
.
I've coloured her with pro-markers and chalked the edges.
The backing papers are from Cuddly Buddy matted and layered.
I've added some pearls along the straight edge and some flowers along the shaped edge which I've glittered.
To finish I have typed the message on my pc and added some gems.
Thankyou for looking.
PS. I was also asked to join the Digi Doodles shops best challenge for this card as it met with their criteria, so I did. Thankyou very much for pointing this out to me.  I'm still at bit of a newbie to all of this.xx

Tuesday 6 July 2010

It's raining again!

For this card I have linked two challenges.
The first was "recipe" at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges.
The second is "water" at Secret Crafter.
I've coloured the image with promarkers, chalked the edge and glittered.
Mounted it onto a Martha Stewart punched Card then used 2 pattern papers glittering the top one.
The three brads are on the ribbon.

Strawberries and cream

My next card was made for the challenge over at Secret Crafter, only I missed the closing date!!
Still I am posting it on here to show that I have been busy.

The image was a free download and I can't remember where from. Can anyone help me and tell me how to remember where my images come from please?
The strawberry backing paper was from a free booklet in a craft magazine last year and the gingham was also from a different free book.
I've punched the flower and added gems in all corners.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Wreath

I can't belive that it is a fortnight since I last posted any cards.
I thought I would have a change and make a christmas card and thought I would use the challenge
over at Die cut dreams christmas club.
It looks ok but I feel there is something missing on it and can't quite think what!!!

The stamp was given to me a few years ago now and I've embossed it with green powder then mounted it onto green mirri card.
I've put some backing paper from Sue Smith onto the card and finished off with a poinsetta and a greeting.

Joyful

Is it just me who has a box of little bits "just in case"? Well for this card I have used just the said pieces and stamped a Ruby Fairies image.
The layout I have used was from Digi Stamp Boutique and the colours are from Colour Create
I have stamped the image then coloured it with pro markers and sacura glitter pen on the wings.
I've then distressed the edges and this was a first for me then mounted it onto different card and papers.
To finish I have used 3 flowers the pink one having a fluffy middle and used pearly doddles in the corners.
Thank-you for looking.

Wedding cards

I was asked how much notice did I need to make a card and when I asked what for it was 2 wedding cards. So I said yes I'll do them then the next day asked when for..............Saturday!  Well I managed to do them.

This first one is a topper and backing paper from a Rob Adams cd.
I have used gold mirri card to mount the topper and strip onto then finished off with 2 Arrum lillies that I have added glitter to.

The second is a Forever Friends Decoupage from a cd. I have embossed some white pearl paper and trimmed it with a Martha Stewart punch. I have used a strip of ribbon from my stash, mounted the topper onto mirri card then mounted all onto more mirri card.
To finish off I have glittered the topper added a flower and jewels and a sentiment.

Doggie Birthday

Here is a birthday card for a male colleague who likes dogs.
The image is one of Karen's Doodles coloured in with pro-markers
The back-ground has been printed from a Chris Warner cd so I might just put it in for the cd challenge.
The rest of the papers were in my oddments box waiting to be used up and the buttons I found in a tub in the bottom of my cupboard along with the string.
I just finished it off with peel-off's which I've not used for a while. I've been useing glitter glue instead.
The lay-out is from Sugar Bowl.
Thank-you for looking.

Grand-daughter

As I said in my other thread I am a great Auntie to a girl at last, and this is the card I made for my sister and brother in law. After 5 boys there is now a girl.
The yellow is linen look card then I mounted a plaid paper first followed by a pink which I embossed with dots. I then found the flower paper in my bit box so punched one side and stuck a row of teddies along the bottom. The image is from a mini decoupage booklet and I mounted it onto a Nellie Snellen die that I bought in Holland from her shop.I finished off with glitter glue and put gems in the flower centres and larger ones in the corners then finally added a little bow.
Thanks for looking.

Back to Normal

Well I'm back from my travels now and getting back into some kind of routine.  Had a great time in Holland and then met my new Great Niece back home.
I did make a couple of cards in between but didn't get round to posting them so here is the first one. I was asked to make a card with " Heighland Coos" and for all you non-scots that is Highland Cows!LOL
I went across to the west side of Scotland to visit a friend and managed to take some photos of the cows when we went for a drive out. The result was this card. What a bonny face these cows have and just stood there for me to take the pictures.
Hope you like them.

Holiday

Just to let you know that I won't be posting anymore cards this week as I'm going over to Holland for a couple of days. I'm hoping to get some nice crafty things there so will have a play when I get back.
Bye for now.

Collour create challenge

Soft greens and Aqua are the colours on this weeks colour create challenge  so looking through my stash of oddments and using a freebies digi this is what I came up with.

The layout was the Sketch and Stash challenge 34 only I turned it 90degrees.
The image I've used felt pens, promarkers for his face and hair and sacura for the flowers. I've chalked the background blue to tone it in with the picture. The background I printed from Sue Smiths plaid cd then mounted onto card from my stash. I've punched another strip of "bitty paper from my bitty box" and wrapped ribbon over it.
To finish off I've glittered the edges and add some jewells and a glittered flower.

Footballer

I was asked to make a football card for a 70 year old but didn't know his teams colours so fingers crossed I haven't offended him!!!
The image again is one from Cuddly Buddy as is the backing paper.
I've just used mirri card for the first mount but did the side step card for a change as I like this style.

Sketch Saturday

Sorry I've not been around for the past couple of days but we are having major work done in the garden.
Anyway I spotted this sketch over on Sketch Saturday and used a digi image from Cuddly Buddy.
The papers are from a folder of scrap paper I have in a folder.
I used water colour pencils and felt pens to colour the image.
I've used a punch along one strip and stamped to animals onto circles then finished of with some glitter round the edges.
Thankyou for looking.

Mothers 80th

My latest card isn't a challenge but I thought I would still share it with you.
My Mum is 80 along with my God-mum so I had to make a card each from me then one for my God-Mum from my Mum, so I had to come up with different ideas.
Hope you like this.

This is an A4 card already foiled around the edges. I've used a decoupage I had and then sprayed it with glaze to give it a shine and glittered the centre of the flowers.
I've mounted it onto gold mesh put some ribbon from my stash behind then onto green card that has also been glittered.

I've added a dotty border along the bottom then finished off with rose buds that I have also added glitter to.
Thankyou for looking.

Whiff of Joy

This was supposed to be my entry for this weeks challenge on Whiff of Joy but I put the ribbon too far down and couldn't get the text in the right place.
I printed the swirl from one of my cd's then added gems to it.
The pattern paper was a freebie in a magazine I've had for a long time.
The image I have coated with Glossy accents.
I've added ribbon across the bottom then mounted the greeting over it.

God- Mother

For this card I took the Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge.
The card is from my stash and I printed the plaid from a Sue Smith cd.
The stamp image is Popcorn the Bear colloured with pro makers and sacura pens.
I've added glitter around the edges and added a few gems for a bit of bling.

This is my first attempt at blogging and posting a picture of my cards so fingers crossed.
I saw a layout like this and made my own version using a digital image.
The papers are from my stock that I have either bought or printed from a cd.
I have glittered the edges added a few games and flowers. The image I used pro-markers for the first time.
Thankyou for looking.
