Lattice Card

I need to do something to keep my sanity and as I have no craft space at the moment due to having to gut the room ready for repairs it was a case of what can I get to.  Well I have these 4 fold cards with a jigsaw peice cut out that I have had for a few years and not used, so thought I wonder if I can make a lattice card with them and the answer is yes. I cut the last fold off and used it for the strips, then cut the jigsaw into the middle fold so that you can see through. In one corner I used a Sarah Kay decoupage , I inked the edges of the puzzle lightly and to finish I used some small roses ribbon and a greeting.

Sunday Santa

This weeks card theme is Father Christmas and the only stamp I have is quite a big one. I finally got it how I wanted but in the top corner it was missing something so I put the Holly cause I couldn't find a flower or the paper to make one. I feel the holly has spoiled it a bit, but as I'm feeling really down I just couldn't be bothered to change it. Having a hubby who has a poorly foot but won't help himself is beginning to get to me. He just sits on the sofa all day, he won't put any socks on cause he says they hurt and won't wear a shoe of any kind. I'm at my wits end as to what to do.
Sorry for raving on a bit but I could really do with some hugs.

Lattace card

I have been looking at some of these cards on a forum and really like them so had a "bash" myself.
I was going to leave it all white but decided to add a bit of blue chalk. The card was a 3 fold apperture card I've had for a long time from when I did cross-stitch cards, so I just cut the oval out on the "flap" bit that folds in. This saved me making a backing card.  The flowers are a mixture of punched and crealies. Hope you like it.

Teachers Leaving card

I was asked to make a card for a teacher who is leaving. Simple I thought......until I was asked to have2 grannies baking on it.  Well I serched the internet and found a granny holding a baking tray with cakes on so bought the image, only it was coloured . Well here is the product.
I used my pro-markers to change the colour of the pinny. The background I stamped buns all over randomly then stamped them onto card and coloured them in but used a red glaze for the cherries and glitter for the icing.  The person was well impressed with the result.

Santa's Sunday

Hello there. I've not been posting because I can't comment on other friends cards. But I can see them so hopefully you can all see mine.  Your cards are fantastic and have given me plenty of inspiration which I thank you all for very much.  I have been on the net a lot of late because my friend over in America has a very poorly grand-daughter. Thank goodness for facebook though as her mum is one of my "friends" and been posting up dates.  Today she is having a major operation so I hope you will all join me in wishing her a full recovery. So now to this weeks card, I watched Sue on a Spell binders programme yesterday morning and she did a demo of this so I had a go and this is the result.  I feel there is something missing like a greeting  but will have another look later.

Thankyou for looking, please if you can post a comment.
Hugs Vanessa xx

Flower card

This card is another go at using nothing but my dies.  I have got some Marianne flower dies and used a Martha Stewart punch all round. To finish it off I have used some pearls and a little tag message, only when I stuck the tag on I noticed it was the wrong way.  But as we say in crafting it's just a happy accident and I have just put the card landscape instead of portrate.

Owl Card

This a crad I was asked to make for a friend at work for her husband.  She wanted an Owl theme so hope she likes the result.
I have also stamped around the insert with the same flourishes I have used around the topper.

Another Week gone

Gosh aren't the weeks going by quickly?  I have been busy card making but only taken photo's of a couple of them. My first card is for my christmas card for this weeks theme which is Ribbon.  I had umpteen attempts before I settled for this as I knew what I wanted but couldn't work it out right.

Die cut card

Sorry I've not posted for a while but I have been making cards, but not posting them on here.
Well this week I thought I would share my first attempt at this kind of card.  I have been watching a Dutch lady who in my opinion makes the most gorgeous cards and I finally gave in and had a go. Here is the card.
I have used spell-binders for the back-ground, corners and the flower is the Poinsetta die.  The swirls are a Marianne design, the first layer is a Martha Stewart punch and finally the next layer is a Nellie Snellon. I have used Tim Holtz ink to get it some depth and finished ogreeting.ff with peel-offs butterfly(because I don't have a punch) and greeting.
Please leave your comments after looking .
Hugs Vanessa.

Purple and Green

This weeks theme on our Sunday Santa was chosen by me, so I picked a two colour theme purple and green because I have some candy of these colours.  I coloured the image with pro markers and chalked the edges to take away the harshness of white. I then used backing paper from Hunky Dory Hope you like the card. Thanks.

ANother Week.

Well that is another week gone by so quickly. It has been lovely weather up here so I have spent some time in the garden for a change.  I've been pricking out my seedlings today trying to get ahead for a change.  I saw some cards made using Flower fairies and remembered that I bought sheets of them a few years ago but never got around to using them and yes I mean sheets. Well here are the results. My daughter is going to take them to my grand daughters nursery to see if they will sell, hopefully they do so that I can make more cards.

Santas on Sunday

This week on our Sunday Santa over on facebook the challenge was "Monocromatic" and after much thought and how can I get a black and white card I could not figure out anything.  But then I saw another card with the theme and the person had used brown and cream, which gave me more thought and I came up with black gold and white. So after a search through my stash I came up with this card. Hope you like it.

Less is More

I have been following a new blog which the card challenges are very simple cards but very striking.  Well last week it was to use red somewhere on the card.  I finally took the plunge and made a card myself.  Unfortunatly there is a new challenge now but I thought you could tell me what you think of my first attempt please.

First Grand-child

I was asked to make a First grand child card and as we don't know what it is I decided to use colours that would suit either sex.
I bought the pad of papers a couple of years ago but have only used it about 3 times, so I thought now to use it again.
Hope you like the result.

Christening Girl

This is a card I made last year and someone was asking what they could do for a christening card .

CD Sunday Challenge

This week over at the CD Sunday challenge the theme is transport.
One of my work friends has a birthday next week and is mad about scooters, and I found a stamp at the SECC at the beginning of this month so I thought I would combine them together with this result.

The backing paper is from the Silver cd that Michelle Marsden put together for create and craft and while ago now. I had a bit of gingham ribbon left over in my box and thought how it would tie in with the paper. To finish it off I used a peel-off greeting and some candy.
Thank-you for looking. Hugs xx

No Green

This week our challenge on Facebook Sunday santa was no green so I chose blue.
I'm late posting it this week due to my hubby being home and wanting to clear the garage out to make room for when I have to clear out my craft room for the repairs to take place.
We have had a great week weather wise so lots of washing and ironing done to make up for not being able to hang it out since last Novemeber!!
Here is my card, I hope you like it.

Sunday 20 March 2011

Snowflakes

Well our challenge this week is SNowflakes so I did some embossing both dry and heat for this card.
Added some ribbon and jewels and here is the result. Hope you like it.

CD's Sunday Challenge

This week at CD's Sunday Challenge it is three colours, yellow brown and blue.
I've made this card using a Chris Warner cd for the t-bags in blue, the faux stitching and fancy backers are brown and my backing paper is the yellow.
I haven't decided yet if it is to be a mothers day card so I have left the small backer blank for now.

Gingerbread

Well hello for another week. Hope you have all had a good one. I have had a friend visiting so crafting was on the agenda along with visiting the area I live as she has never been over this side of Scotland.  What a windy day it was on Thursday for a visit to the beach but lots of cob-webs have now dissappeared!!
This weeks challenge was Gingerbread and boy was it a challenge. Having no stamps with a gingerbread on I ahd to look through al my stashes and found a box of buttons with gingerbread in them, so have used them. Also found a greeting with a gingerbread on it. Put it all togther using a template I have never used and here is the result. Hope you like.

Oh Christmas tree

Well sorry for not posting at least once last week but been busy cleaning for a friend visiting.
I went to the SECC for the crafts exhibition on Thursday and bought quite a few goodies. I took a list with me but still managed to buy a few other things I needed!!
This week on our Sunday Christmas card it was "Oh christmas tree" and I found this stamp at the SECC so had to buy it. Hope you all like.

Help Please.

Well I hope you all have had a good week.  I am choked up with the cold and going through tissues like nobodies business. I did get some inspiration yesterday for this week Santa card but I feel it needs something else.  Here is the result.
I just feel it is a bit too flat. It is the first time I have used  this colour green for a christmas card.
Thank you for looking.

Sunday Santa

Because I was busy with the wedding invites I missed 2 weeks of my Sunday Santa but I have now caught up.
I really enjoyed this weeks challenge which was an easel card. I saw Michelle make a twisted version last Monday so had a go myself. Hope you like it.

The second card was a Family theme and the last card was a White theme.
The white I found hard because it is something I never do.

Wedding Invites

Well here are the finished wedding invites I've been busy making for a couple of weeks.
I foiled the names on the front of the all day ones.
The ribbon is "blueberry" and you can nearly see the full colour on the evening invite.
They took a lot of making but worth it.

waters meet

The challenge this week on Sundays cd is waters meet. Now looking at the other cards I think I might have miss interpreted the meaning but hey ho here goes.
Water is used in the bath and she is drinking bubbly which is a liquid!!!!
She is a flippin women stamp and I have used papers from my SWALK cd.
I've finished it off with some flowers  and gems and ribbon and glittered the bubbles from the bath.
Heres hoping it meets the criteria!!  LOL
Thanks.xx

The CD Sunday challenge

Someone suggested that I put a card forward for the challenge on a Sunday so here it is.
I have used Chris Warners cd for the backing papers. It is the Definitely For the Ladies one.
I have stamped the image then coloured it with my pro-markers, I've distressed the edges and added a bit of glitter in the flower centres.
I've used a circle punch for the doily and a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom paper and to finish I added some ribbon and flowers from my stash.
Hope you like it.

Pink christmas

This weeks theme for christmas was pink. I don't remember ever having made a pink christmas card before but I won't give up on a challenge. So here is the results.
I found the backing papers amongst freebies from magazines so it made things easier for me.
The image is a digi from Digi Stamp boutique that I coloured in with pro-markers.
I made the card using my new fantastic nestabilities and also used the size down for the pink glitter card.
Now for next weeks challenge....can you see my mind ticking over trying to think!!!!
Take care.

Any thing Sparkle

A couple of my facebook friends have decided that we are making a christmas card a week so that we don't have so many to do nearer christmas. This is my card.
I also thought it was about time I started bloggong again as the inspiration I get from these challenges has certainly improved the cards I make.
The image is an Adorable stamp coloured with pro-markers.
The papers are some I have printed off from 2 of my many cds.
To finish I have used sequins and buttons in the corners , crystal glitter on her fur and snowflakes and a greeting from a freebie in a magazine.
