My final card is for a friend at my work who retires next week.

She challenged me a couple of years ago as to I couldn't make a crad in her hobby. When I asked her what her hobby was and knowing she didn't have one of the usual ones the answer" Hunky Men".

Guess who was able to make a card for her!!!  So knowing about this "hobby" I made her retireing card using one of the images from a Fee cd.

Hope you like the result.

60th birthday

It was my son in laws mums 60th birthday 2 weeks ago so she had a party to celebrate.

I made this for her. It is a Ladybug stamp from the Wrinklies set. They are great stamps for a certain age.

Daughters card

Thought it was about time I posted some cards I've been busy making.

The first is my daughters birthday card. I have used both spellbinders and Marianne dies and a crafts too folder.  Loved making this and am going to do more in this way.
I finished it with some flowers.

Thankyou for looking. x

Morehead card

Hi there people
Haven't the Olympics been awsome?  I love most sports and have watched the games whenever I could. The event that really amazed me though was the dressage. I don't like horses or should I say they don;'t like me, but I watched this event and was totally taken aback by the way a horse could move to music like that.
Well to my card, my friend now has her own blog where she is having challenges and she reminded me on Friday that I had not yet entered. I bought the Morehead stamps and cd and thought I would have a play with them.

I just finished it with some pearls and corner peel-offs.

Thanks for looking.x

Plain Card

I have recently found Pinterest and can't stop myself looking at least once a day. I find a card and click onto it then find another site with a lovely card and on it goes.

This card was similar to one I found but it had hearts on and as I wanted it for a male card I used a flower die instead. The only part I am not keen on is the ticket saying Happy Birthday. I would certainly make another card this style.

Thanks for looking.

Sundays with Santa

Hello. I was late posting this for yesterday due to my sister coming to visit and as she lives 300 miles away we had a lot of chatting to do before i rushed off to work.
This weeks challenge was Anything Goes so I got looking through my magazines and found a rocker card so this is my first attempt.  don't have a circle dies so used an oval instead. It turned out ok and I am quite happy with it so will definately have another go with this kind of card.

The image was a freebie from a past magazine and the papers are Jolly Happy Christmas by Dovecraft. I punch the flakes out and finished it off with jewels on the flakes and a bow.
Thanks for looking. x

Scarecrow

I am a member of Jammie Pandas on facebook and a couple of months ago Fee gave us some free papers and toppers to do whatever we wanted with them. Well I printed some off but that was as far as it went until today and here is the card.

I bought the brown card from Anne Marie at Doncaster last weekend and just distressed the edges then did the faux stitching. To finish off I found some straw like raffia for a bow. I really like the image and I know it is more a happy Holidays card I think it will be ok for my RAK card this month.
Thanks for looking. xx

Sundays with santa

This weeks challenge over on Sundays with santa was "White on White". I love the results you can achive with this technique.  I bought a Memory die last weekend down in Doncaster and was determind to use it. I took a square card and cut a smaller peice and went round the edge pricking it. Then I took another smaller card and embossed it in a Snowflake folder and rounded the edges.I then used my new dies which is a Wreath and punched lots of leaves used another punch for some small flowers and finally cut a few swirls. Using decoupage glue I started putting it together. To finish I put some small pearls in the centre of the flowers.
Just realised that I put a greeting at the bottom too.
Thanks for looking. xx

Pinterest inspiriation

These two cards are similar to what I have seen on Pinterest. There is so much inspiration on there it is unbelievable. The first card is an image I have had for about 10 years now. It was a no stamp required pack I bought from Steph before she was on C & C.
The second card I saw in black and white but thought it would be just as nice in dark blue which I had lots of spare. I used a new Marianne die to cut out the shape and the flowers are memory dies. Thankyou for looking.x

Wedding Invite

A friend at my work told me last week that she is getting married on August 3RD!!!!It is only a small get together because thay have been with each other for 14 years. I always said that if it ever did happen I would gladly make her invites. She want something simple with tartan on the front. There are 3 thistles  which you can just see and the ribbon is Black watch which means a lot to the people of Scotland. Thanks for looking. x

I was asked to make a baby card so I made the blue butterfly car first but then thought it was too dark.
So I made the animal card using some toppers and then inking a strip across the top of the card which matched the tag topper. Only I thought it wasn't quite right so made a third card. Guess which one I sold..........the green card. Mind you I did like it myself. So which card would you choose? I would love to hear, thanks.

Sundays santa

I am starting to catch up with my blog posts. Sorry for not keeping up but looking after the girls 3 days a week is quite tiring but I wouldn't change it.My first card is from my Sunday santa on facebook and the theme was to use our dies.I saw a card like this on pinterest so had an attempt. I used some pearl card that was left over and made a square card. I cut the fancy frame and mounted it using foam. The flower is a My Craft Studio one and I cut extra leaves. When I looked at the card though it was missing something as the card was too big, so I used Memory Dies for the corners which did the trick. I used a sentement for the "prop" to make it an easel card.

Sundays santa

This weeks theme on Sunday Santa is favourites, and a friend of mine has started her own blog with a challenge so I thought I would combine the two together.
The image is one of the Adorables which I do like and have used often. My papers are Bearly Mine and to finish I have used a Martha Stewart punch and some brads.
Sorry it is a quick post but I have been called into work early. Will post all my other cards tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

Due to other commiments I haven't been making my Sunday Santa cards until later in the week. Well today sees me catching up with the cards and posting them onto here and the Sunday santa page. The 4 themes were Blues, Christmas for a child, Using your dies and a Sporty theme. here are the results. the first card I used a new Cheery Lyne die and the sentiment is a Hunkydory one.
The second card i used left-over papers and the image was from an old calender.
The blue card was free papers from a magazine and the decoupage I bought at the kanban factory.
The last card I have used a sheet I printed from a Chris warner cd. the 3 dies are from left-over card and to finish I used some ribbon from my stash.
I can now start playing to see what I can do and am sure my grand daughter will have fun with me .xx

Mums birthday card

I was away at the weekend in Manchester for the rugby. had a great time and met some lovely people who we will hopefully meet up with again next year.  It was my mums birthday while I was away and didn't want to post her card on here until she had seen it. Can't believe she is 82 now.

Here favourite colour is yellow so I tend to use that for any cards I make for her.
I've used a pearl silver card for the base which looks more like a grey, and gone round the edge with cosmic shimmer. The yellow paper is from a Papermania pad and the dotty paper is some I printed off. The lace was from my trip down to Leeds market and the flowers from country baskets.  The butterfly is a Marrianne die leaves are memory box and the white frame is 4 corner die from spellbinders.

Thanks for looking.

Re colouring!

Looking through my many reams of papers I founf a sheet of digi images. I had started colouring this one but it was before I understood about shading and was a bit bland.  Well I re coloured her and this time she looks more like a little girl I am well pleased with the outcome and hope you are too.

I used the layout on a previous card and got on well with it so used it again for this card and used up some scraps of paper and card.  I love doing this as I feel I get a good card that hasn't cost much too make, and keeps my scrap boxes low.

Sunday Santa

This weeks theme is Transport.....well I don't have a stamp or digi image that I thought sutable, so I had a look through my decoupage papers and hey presto I found this one.
It reminded me of the film Chitty Chitty bang bang.

Orange roses

I saw a card similar to this on the marianne design site, so had a look at what I had to make something similar.  I was well pleased with the card so I made a second card with the left overs.  I used up some green card for the leaves and ended up punching or using dies with the rest of the scraps so that I now have a container of leaves at the ready.

Christmas birthday

Last Sunday challenge was a Christmas birthday so I used a fairy posting a card.
Sorry I am late in posting this to my blog but I have been busy in the garden and trying to catch up with cards for the school fete and birthdays for next week.

I've been busy this week on my holiday from work. My daughter asked if I would share a table at the school fete with her, me with my cards and her with jewelry and hand massages. So I had to get my fingers out so to speak. I found an old Making Cards magazine withe some gorgeous papers and toppers free in the centre so I started and made 11 cards. (I've still got 1 more to make!!)

Here are the results. I would love to see your replies .Thanks.xx

Cream and Gold card

For this card I saw my dutch friends with a similar design and have been meaning to have a go for ages.
So being as I am on holiday and have no grand children I am making the most and crafting. All the gold was bits left over from a wedding stationery set I made last year and you know what we crafters are like for not throwing things away. Hope you like the card. xx

Going through my folder that I keep all my christmas papers toppers etc., in I found some scene toppers I had printed off a long time ago. After making the earlier card using My Craft Studio flowers I thought I would try something different to use both the flowers and toppers. Here are the results.

Thanking for looking please leave a comment. xx

Happy Birthday

Today is my friend Isobel birthday. I wanted to play with my dies and my grand daughter wanted to know what Isobels fave colour was so that we could make the card. Hope you like the result. I saw my dutch friends blog a card like this and loved her idea and wanted to try and use just Spelbinder dies only. Here is the card.
Happy Easter.

this week on our Sunday Santa it is Anything goes. I watched Sue Wilson do a wreath of flowers and thought I would have a go myself. So I cut 4 different colour greens leaves then I remembered I bought the My Craft Studio flowers and thought they would look nice on top. Is it me or do you all like doing some cards better than others  because I really enjoyed maing this card and will make more like it.
So here is the final product.

Holly

This weeks theme on our Sunday santas over on facebook is Holly. I hadn't realised last week when I did that card as the stamp I used that had never seen ink was Holly. ANyway I was looking through my download for this image and came across the papers I have used. I so love the colour. I managed to find matching card and used my Holly Spellbinders dies. Hope you like the result. The image and papers are from Cuddly Buddy.

Baby Cards

My next two cards are baby ones. I saw a card like this made by a dutch lady and so liked the die that I bought it myself. I have made both a pink and a blue card but not put any wording on yet until I know who it is for. I used my oddments of white card and pink  and blue so it has really cost me pennies.  I like cards that don't cost much to make!!!!

Ruby Wedding

My first card this week is a ruby wedding for a friend of mine. I can't believe she has been married 40 years AND younger then me!!!
I used red card at first but it didn't give me the WOW factor so I decided to use red mirri and the result was so much better.
Thanks for looking.
